Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Emergency Plumber YQC ("we", "us") collects through emergencyplumberyqc.com (the "Site"), how it is used and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and applicable Canadian law. By using the Site or sending us a request you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

• Information you send us. When you submit the contact form or call, we collect your name, phone number, community, a description of the plumbing problem, urgency, and any message you add. We also record the page you sent the form from, the referring site and campaign parameters (UTM) so we know how you found us.
• Automatically collected information. Standard server logs and any analytics we run collect your IP address, browser type, device, pages viewed and time on site. We do not use this to identify you personally.
• Cookies. The Site may set essential cookies and analytics cookies. You can block cookies in your browser; the Site still works without them.

2. Why we collect it and how we use it

• To respond to your request, dispatch a plumber, quote and carry out the work, and follow up on the job.
• To pass your request to the certified plumbing contractor who services your area, who may contact you directly by phone, text or email.
• To keep records needed for invoicing, permits, warranties and insurance documentation.
• To improve the Site and measure which pages and campaigns lead to requests.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not send commercial email or text messages without your consent, as required by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

3. Who we share it with

Your request may be shared with: the plumbing contractor performing the work; the form-handling and hosting providers that process submissions on our behalf (some of which may store data outside Canada); analytics providers; and, where required, insurers, permitting authorities or law enforcement. Each provider may use the information only to provide its service.

4. Calls and text messages

By giving us your phone number you agree that we or the servicing contractor may call or text you about your request. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to opt out.

5. Retention

Request records are kept as long as needed to complete and support the job and to meet warranty, permit, insurance and legal record-keeping requirements, then deleted or anonymized.

6. Access, correction and consent

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to further contact by emailing info@emergencyplumberyqc.com. We will respond within the time allowed by law. Some records may be kept where the law requires it.

7. Security

Form submissions travel over HTTPS. Access to request records is limited to people who need it to do the job. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

The Site is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect their information.

9. Third-party links

The Site may link to other websites, for example City of Calgary pages. Their privacy practices are their own.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top changes when we do. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
